SkinPen™ can be used on all types of skin and all skin colors. We use SkinPen™ to address a wide range of problems such as acne scars, stretch marks, dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles. SkinPen™ allows for more versatility than lasers, chemical peels or other common ablative skin treatments which are sensitive to darker skin types.

What does an SkinPen™ Treatment feel like?

An SkinPen™ treatment is virtually painless, some light pressure can be felt. Some areas may feel more sensitive than others, but, the speed of the reciprocating needle tip reduces discomfort and the applied treatment solution also makes the treatment more tolerable. We may provide a mild topical anesthetic prior to each treatment for added comfort.

Is there any downtime?

Significant healing takes place within the first 2 hours and most patients heal completely within 24 hours. Some sensitive skin may require up to 48 hours. Total healing time will depend on the severity of the damaged skin, the depth of repair required, and how aggressive the treatment is performed. Slight swelling, heat and redness (like a mild sunburn) is normally observed and may last for 2 to 3 days for some people.

Will I need to use certain products?

Clinical Resolution has succeeded in making our entire product line safe to use prior to and following treatments. Using products without our special formulations can result in burning, stinging, discomfort, excessive redness and possible infection.

When can I wear makeup following treatment?

Typically, patients can resume their makeup regimen 2 to 3 days following their SkinPen™ treatment depending on the area and type of treatment.

When will a patient see a difference?

Even the first treatment will show some enhancement. Real differences are seen with monthly clinical treatments. Typically, patients will see a significance after the third treatment. We will recommend a series of 3 to 6 treatments depending on the age, complexity and severity of the damaged skin.
